In a letter to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, the President of Tigray, Debretsion Gebremichael has issued an appeal for the UN to intervene to help end the war and the blockade.
The letter comes on the eve of today’s UN Security Council debate on the Tigray war.

As usual, Dr Debretsion is understandably frazzled from the sweeping actions of the Ethiopian people. It is understandable. But the TPLFites are always behind the “eight ball”. In 2018 they made a political suicide by repatriating all their political forces from the central government to the regional capital . I’m clear site they showed the world they are ready for war. The second suicidal motion came in 2020 in the form of military action. According to the commanders, they “took a preemptive action” against the national army, the northern command. One day, the people of Tigray will judge the TPLF leadership, and bring them to justice for their suicidal actions.
You are not understanding what you are writing. Why you want to ignore the fact that of Genocide on Tigray people?
TDF withdrawal from Amhara is cleararly based on the request came from Abiy. If needed TDF has no problem to get back? The world know who Tigray fighters are! Just Hero and backbone of Ethiopia. Don’t focus on drams made by Abiy. Is not he or others make a difference. If TDF fights then the result is known.
Eng: You are either intentionally blind and deaf or you do not have the facts. You can write blah … blah mountain of lies like Abiye Ahmed Ali who denied there were no mercenary Eritrean army in Tigray, no single civilian was killed when the traitor Ethiopian Army entered Mekele with the help of mercenary Eritrean army and UAE drones. Why do these so called Ethiopian (specifically the unitary Amhara chauvinists and expansionists) like to pig·gy·back on Arabs, dictators like China, UAE, Iran, Turkey, Russia, etc and toot (ዘራፍ በባዶ ሜዳ ላይ) victory as if they achieved the victory by their own strength?
Giving peace a chance does not mean weakness! Dr. Debretsion asked for peace when Mekele was overrun. I also remember him saying that the enemy can enter Tigray but the enemy will not get out of Tigray alive. This is what happened when TDF routed the ENDF (Eritrean Defense Forces), EDF (Eritrean Defense Forces), multitudes of Regional government militias from Kola Tembien to Debresina.
The Tigray Defense Forces has pulled out from Amhara and Afar under relentless pressure from the International Community. Time will tell what Abiy will do. One thing is certain. If he continues with the bombing of Tigray with drones from Iran, Russia, China, Turkey and support from Eritrean Army, and Mogadishu , TDF will retaliate and the rest will be history. Abiy and the ignorant Amhara supporters should think twice,
I think let us all side for peace and stop this ugly war that has no benefit to anyone. Borders and people’s right to govern by themselves can not be changed by force. We have seen what war has brought to Ethiopia, it is destruction, death and international condemnation. The start for peace by Tigray government should be supported and praised. Peace is the wise way to go and no one will benefit from hate and atrocities. Finally, Eritrea should back off from our internal matters, and let us not give an opportunity for scavengers of Eritrea to mess up our country.
Peace is precious and a precondition for building democratic institutions and economic development. Personal ego and hunger for power from despotic PM and the Malaria infested Eritrean dictator are destroying not only Tigray but the whole country. It will need a farsighted leadership and 30 solid years to bring it to where it was 3 years ago.
What was TPLF’s response to the unilateral cease fire declared by the Federal Government of Ethiopia back in June. What changed now after creating mayhem in Amhara and Afar region.
